Seminar Cum Workshop
On
“National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning by IIT Madras”
SRI Datia has organized seminar on 4th January 2013 by Mr. Siddharth Agarwal, he is MBA from IIT Madras provided a deep insight on phase-II of NPTEL .
NPTELis a Government of India sponsored collaborative educational programme, By developing curriculum-based video and web courses the programme aims to enhance the quality of engineering education in India.
It is being jointly carried out by 7 IITs and IISc Bangalore, and is funded by the Ministry of Human Resources Development of the Government of India.
NPTEL provides E-learning through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Science and humanities streams. The mission of NPTEL is to enhance the quality of Engineering education in the country by providing free online courseware.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME BY NEN
NEN conducted a workshop on faculty development on 22nd Dec, 2012. The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Marlina Ramchandran. The workshop was to help faculty to develop entrepreneurship. This will lead to faculty to become part of India’s largest network of entrepreneurship educators, exponentially increasing the resources available to their institutes.
After engaging in these Courses, faculty members will be able to develop and run programs that build students awareness and excitement about entrepreneurship, and help them develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Students gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to succeed either as entrepreneurial leaders within organizations,or to start their own ventures.
At the most advanced level, NEN’s courses develop the participants’ ability to directly support entrepreneurs – through mentoring, incubation, or by running executive education courses.
Every faculty from Associate Director Prof. Sanjeev Gupta, Head of the departments, and faculty from various departments actively participated in the workshop.

Orientation Programme

INDIAN AIR FORCE (IAF)
A Placement cum an orientation programme was conducted by officers from IAF as for carrier prospects and jobs in the Indian Air Force. Members from IAF Gwalior came to SRI Datia on 1st Dec. There was Mr. S.K. Natashan Wing Commander in IAF along with Mr. Jitendra Nigam Squadron Leader in IAF.
They gave a deep insights over the life at Indian Air Force, visualized some glimpses from the base station at several places in India. Apart from the detailed analysis they explained the selection procedure in IAF. They interacted one-to-one with students and interviewed for further process of various branches from different courses solving their queries efficiently.
As per the procedure it have been divided into various parts starting with written then group discussion then physical round and Psychologytest and at last is the face to face Interview.
They also mentioned a person who is keened to work in IAF should stand on with personal qualities like leadership skill, firmness to withstand stress, social adaptability and with sense of responsibility.
The vote of thanks was given by Associate Director Prof. Sanjeev Gupta. Other dignitaries present in seminar was TNP Head Deepanshu Suhane, SRITS Principal Prof. Dheeraj Shivhare, HOD's of various departments.
CAMPUS PLACEMENT DRIVE

In Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of science & technology, Datia a campus drive was placed by Motif India Infotech Pvt. Ltd. for the engineering, MBA and BBA students of the college on 24th November .
More than hundred students have participated in this campus placement drive. For the students the campus was to be processed in three rounds. The first round was written test followed by group discussion and at last personal interview.
The company is offering a package of 3 lacs., to the students who get selected after the interview.
Our Associate Director Prof. Sanjeev Gupta was also present there and encourage all the students to do well as it is a important for their future and carrier prospects.

Guest Lecture on SUCCESS by Major Upendra Dwivedi
Indian Army officer
A guest lecture on SUCCESS was delivered in SRITS, Datia on 23rd of Nov. by Major Upendra Dwivedi who is serving Indian army.
He mentioned that there is no shortcut to success, instead it needs a lot of hard work and determined direction with confidence. He inspired that firstly we must decide our aim in life or what we want most out of our life and then constantly work for it.Self-confidence, courage and strong will power are necessary to get success.
At the end of his lecture he render that there is no gain without taking risk, determination and concentration can enable a man to attain success in any field of life. So success is not a matter of luck, it depends on firm determination and full preparation.
Apart from a brave Indian army officer ,he have a good hand in writing as well so as a purpose to motivate students he delivered the lecture on success also mentioning a success story where he successfully accomplished his dream to become a writer , by writing his first novel “ I Caught Her Young”, tale of a chocolate cream soldier.
Which is recently inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister Shashi Tharur and his wife Mrs. Sunanda Pushkar.

SRI welcome Red Ribbon Express at Jhansi station
SRI Students welcome the Red Ribbon Express at Jhansi Railway Station on 22nd Nov, 2012 with great enthusiasm.
The Red Ribbon Express seeks to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS,especially those in rural regions. India has the third largest population of HIV/AIDS victims worldwide.
On-platform and off-site communication activities such as exhibits, street plays and demonstrations are used. Treatment and counseling services are also available on the coach.
The projects target audience was broad, including youth groups, women’s groups, student communities, urban slum dwellers and farmers.
From SRI 400 students, faculties were gathered to join the phase of the Red Ribbon Express at Jhansi. The students and teachers were seen in large numbers inside the train gathering information about the disease. Counselors on board were enthusiastic in spreading details about the disease.
A lot of queries regarding the myths related to the disease were solved. They also informed that if HIV/AIDS is diagnosed and treated at an early stage, HIV infected person can lead a normal life.

SRI-STARTUP, 50 Rs Venture Activity
In SRITS Datia, on 1st of November E-Cell have organized skill development program SRI-STARTUP 50 Rs venture in which student have to invest only 50 Rs and earn more from it. The main motive was to give an opportunity to students to showcase their business mind and be independent, so as in coming future they can
be independent and can start business as their carrier.
There were 50 teams who participated in the venture with students who organize many exciting events. The events included food stalls as all fun with snacks like bhelpuri, custard, chat and many more, there were many games with dices, bangles, car race, hit the pot, sand and many more….
and the center of attraction was the movie screening which attracted maximum number of people….so the idea to give them a beginning to think creatively was purposefully fulfilled in the event as they outline, plan and conclude their event. The E cell volunteers have well organized the event and coordinate the management part with all ends.
The teachers also enjoyed the event and appreciate the students by going on every stall and motivate them to enroll it as a business.
